Paris, Versailles & Ile de France
In Paris, whether you are on a boulevard or a tiny cobbled street, there is always something wonderful around the corner.
With its amazing iconic monuments and museums, you will always find a great shot to feed your view finder. If that’s not enough… Try the flamboyance of Versailles.
Northern France
The North part of the country offers cities with their Belfries surrounded by typical red bricks houses. Check the major World War 2 sites in Dunkirk or the amazing wildlife at sunset in the bay of La Somme after driving along the beautiful Opale coast. Even though northern France is quite rural, you can still find amazing piece of architecture such as the Amiens cathedral, the Chantilly castle or Le Louvre-Lens museum, a good alternative to shoot at the Louvre, Paris
Normandy & Brittany
You wish to film where the Camembert was born? where Monet drew his water lilies? Or the thrill of speed at Le Mans? This is the place to be. You can of course, go to the D-Day museum in Caen, but wouldn’t it be better to shoot a war reenactment on the actual D-Day beaches ? Check out the coast to be mesmerized by the cliffs of Etretat or the majestic site of Le Mont St Michel. There is a wide range of unique locations for filming in Normandy and Brittany.
Loire Valley, Central France & Auvergne
Looking to shoot a fairy tale, or a medieval scene? Come to the Loire valley as there are about 3000 castles in the area. Get your crew on a boat on the Loire river all the way to the Atlantic, via famous vineyards and cities as Orleans, Blois, Tours, Angers… All full of history -Joan of Arc, tapestry of the Apocalypse etc…- Check out the mountains of l’Auvergne with its extinct volcanoes and typical medieval villages and legends… Like in the Gevaudan area.
Bordeaux area, Atlantic coast & Pyrenees
When thinking of Bordeaux, the first word that comes to mind is : wine. Of course some of the finest French wines are from that area, but there is so much more... Pine tree forests, sand beaches, dunes along the Atlantic ocean and some of the best surfing spots. You can go deep in the earth with many of the most famous gorges and caves or elevate yourself with the Pyrenees range of mountains along the Spanish border.
Champagne, Alsace region & Eastern France
The remains of the Battle of the Bulge will give you a dramatic feel when shooting in Les Ardennes, but joy will surround you when filming in the vineyards of the Champagne area. The border with Germany and Luxembourg is surrounded by great forests and lakes all the way to the mountain range of the Jura. Stop in Strasbourg for the largest French Christmas market or for some serious debates at the European Parliament’s seat.
Burgundy, Lyon area & French Alps
Home of many French culinary specialties, Burgundy and Rhone-Alps have also unique landscapes : vineyards, plains, valleys and the French Alps with its amazing ski resorts and Mont Blanc as its climax. Close to the capital, mountains or the sea and third largest city in France, Lyon is the center of an axis between Paris, Geneva and Marseille and offer many filming options.
French Riviera, Provence & Languedoc
From the border of Italy all the way to the Pyrenees, the South of France has so much diversity to offer. Between the wild horses of Carmargue and its rice crop, the medieval fortified town of Carcassonne, the Roman remains of the Pont du Gard, the creeks of Marseille, the picturesque villages of Provence, to the glamour of the Riviera between Cannes and Monte Carlo… You have so much potential to feed your view finder.
